State Ground Water Monitoring Programs: Survey Results

Results of a survey of state ground water level and quality monitoring programs will be presented.  The survey was done as a joint project of the Association of American State Geologists, Ground Water Protection Council, Interstate Council on Water Policy, and the National Ground Water Association.  The survey provides information regarding the existence of state and regional ground water networks, their intended purpose, funding, number of data collection points, availability on-line and other network features.  The survey results are intended to assist state and national discussions regarding ground water monitoring and data collection.

Christine Reimer, NGWA Christine Reimer is the Director of Government Affairs for the National Ground Water Association.

Michael Wireman, US EPA Michael Wireman is a hydrogeologist with U.S. EPA Region 8.

David Wunsch, New Hampshire Geological Survey David R. Wunsch, Ph.D., is the State Geologist and Director of the New Hampshire Geological Survey. As State Geologist, Dr. Wunsch has appointments to the New Hampshire Joint Board of Geology, and the NH Water Well Board. Wunsch also served two terms as a Director of the AGWSE division of the National Ground Water Association, and as Secretary of the American Geological Institute (AGI). Dr. Wunsch is currently the Water Committee Chair and Vice-President of the Association of American State Geologists (AASG), which represents the chief executives of the geology divisions of the 50 states and U.S. Territories.
