The successful marketing of geothermal heat pump systems involves much more than just telling a prospective buyer about the 30% Federal tax credit for residential geothermal systems.  Many people don’t understand the difference between a tax deduction and a tax credit, so they can’t appreciate just how much the Federal geothermal tax credit is worth to them.  They also have a hard time believing how efficient geothermal heat pump systems are, because they don’t really understand how geothermal systems work.   You need to educate them about geo so they will believe your cost comparisons to fossil fuel and air-source heating and air conditioning systems.
This presentation will show some innovative ways to market geothermal heat pump systems and show how to explain the Coefficient of Performance and tax credits at the same time.  Examples of how to use your local newspaper to reach customers in your area, and how to draw a crowd to your booth at the local home show will be shown and discussed.  Other examples will be presented on how to install the geothermal system in your own home or office so it is a show-piece installation, because inviting potential customers to visit and see your geothermal system in action will really impress them.  This presentation will also discuss just how important “going green” has become to people, and how to build on their commitment to “green” in your geo marketing.
