Abstract

The kriging method is known the best linear unbiased method in estimate the variable has a spatial structure. This method apply the variogram tool in estimation. In actual practice, not only the assumed theoretical model is frequently incorrect, even the basic assumption of randomness are frequently unattainable. To avoid these problem, applying the modern technique such as expert systems is appeared necessary. To spatialize the measured groundwater level values as initial values in groundwater modelling, the kriging method has been widely used. In this study, the efficiency of the Adaptive Network based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and ordinary kriging in interpolation of groundwater level in aquifer, is investigated. The results show that ANFIS model is higher efficient to estimate the groundwater level related to the ordinary kriging.
