Research of Position and Progression Trend of Saline Waterfront in Coastal Band of Eastern Gilan Province (Astaneh-Chaboksar)

Kambiz Teimoornegad IV and Neda Poroohan, Azad university

Region of studied area located in the east of Gilan province in form little with coastal band in east segment and wider than in western of region between Astaneh and Chaboksar.

Numerous wells are drilled for using of ground water, which is occurring damages in aquifers, and we can’t reduce its effect. For example, decreasing of precipitation and increasing of the evaporation showed this phenomenon. This research is represented which saline water invasion occurred in coastal aquifer.
Geoelectrical studies were carried out by Schlumberger array (AB=1000 m) along 9 profiles and 80 sounding according to sounding location map. Data were processed and results produced a geoelectrical resistivity map that is represented final pollution of saline front.
Results obtained based on this studies defined saline water area, fossil water, artesian areas, as well as suitable ground water areas.
Subject of important is concluded from studies that Sefidroud river can be a major guard obstacle in opposite to invasion of saline water and Polroud river and Shalmanroud river can play this role in region too.
Therefore, distinguished saline water area in map is occurred by excessive extraction of deep wells which will occurred critical conditions in aquifers, then the best safe position is located in margins of Sefidroud and Polroud and Shalmanroud rivers and they have residue in hidden channel river and in this locations can be proposed to drilled deep wells by controlled conditions.
