The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) Passive Sampler Team recently completeda new Techncial Regulatory Guidance Protocol for 5 passive ground water sampling devices.  These devices include the Regenerated Cellulose Membrane sampler, the Rigid Porous Polyethylene sampler, the Gore Sorber sampler, the Hydrasleeve and the Snap Sampler.  Internet training through EPA's CluIn website is available for the ITRC document and all of these devices are available for use in ground water sampling applications.  Regulatory approvals for passive methods are increasing as these methods show efficacy and utility for multiple analyte classes.
