2007 Ground Water Summit

Wednesday, May 2, 2007: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
San Miguel (Albuquerque Convention Center)
Ground Water/Surface Water Models
Ground water and surface water models are often used to answer difficult water resources management questions. It is important to evaluate the state of the art through case study discussion in order to learn how models are being used, what kinds of questions are being answered with them, and what are the advancements and/or pitfalls that are being experienced by practitioners who are trying to apply these complex and highly uncertain tools to answer difficult questions. The session could be geared toward applications involving analysis of contaminant transport to evaluate source areas and responsible parties, or to evaluate water resources management issues where models are being used to locate new water sources, locate new water supply wells, or evaluate impacts of water resources development on neighboring users.
