2007 Ground Water Summit

Using Water Supply Models to Manage Ground Water Resources
Municipalities and regulatory and resource agencies must continually evaluate water management strategies to meet existing and future water demands, ensure suitable water quality, and protect public welfare and ecological sensitivities. For drought-prone, high-growth areas with increasing projected water demands, water supply management options are critical to providing cost effective, practical water supplies. Ground water models are useful in determining available supplies, evaluating water quality and environmental issues, simulating future water supply options, and understanding surface water and ground water interactions. This session will explore applications of ground water and surface water models to manage water resources.
