Elements of Vadose Zone Hydrology
This course provides an introduction to vadose zone hydrology for hydrogeologists and engineers. It presents scientific fundamentals upon which practical applications of tools used for site characterization and monitoring are based. Included is a discussion of the basic elements of soil physics relevant to fluid movement in variable saturated porous and fractured media. Emphasis is placed on illustrations of vadose zone processes, and a survey of methods for site characterization and monitoring case studies.
