La Cienega (Albuquerque Convention Center)
Environmental Aqueous Geochemistry Short Course
This one-day short course will provide an overview of geochemical processes controlling the composition of natural ground water and fate and transport of contaminants in ground water systems. Topics include aqueous speciation, solution-mineral equilibrium, adsorption/desorption processes, oxidation-reduction reactions, and geochemical aspects of aquifer remediation. This short course will focus on inorganic contaminants. Practical examples will be included throughout the short course. A set of short course notes will be provided to each attendee.
