The session will serve as the 2008 continuation of NGWA's Ground Water and Environmental Law Conference series. This session will include a mock trial with real lawyers and expert witnesses. Abstractsare sought for the following topics: ground water litigation by environmental groups; quarry dewatering: impacts and regulations; source water protection; ground water/surface water interaction: legal implications; international remediation law; site closure and potential site reopening; vapor intrusion regulations; legal implications from USGS health based screening levels; communicating uncertainty on the witness stand; risk transfer and structured settlements; litigation caused by impacts of remediation; post remediation care and obligations; wetland mitigation banking; defensible analytical data; environmental forensics; and water rights: prior appropriation, riparian, and hybrids. | |||
