Multipurpose Recharge Facility and Clearwater Phase I and II and Tucson Water's Recharge and Recovery Projects

Part I: Visit and discuss design, construction, and performance of the Clearwater Project's recharge and recovery facilities. Phase I, the Central Avra Valley Storage and Recovery Project (CAVSARP)consists of 318 acres of recharge basins and 33 recovery wells. Phase II, the Southern Avra Valley Storage and Recovery Project(SAVSARP)was recently completed and consists of 200 acres of recharge basins and will use 30 to 40 recovery wells. Part II: See that riparian areas that are NOT dependent on ground water. The Santa Cruz River at the Marana High Plains Effluent Recharge site is easily accessible. Visitors can see the riparian rich effluent diversion that makes possible artificial recharge at the Marana High Plains Facility. The Lower Santa Cruz Replenishment (CAP) is nearby.
