Beyond MODFLOW: Integrated Catchment Modeling

This one-day short course addresses many catchment management problems such as conjunctive use of ground water/surface water, land-use planning, irrigation optimization, and wetland restoration. Such issues require modeling tools that are beyond the capabilities of traditional ground water models. These applications require realistic linkages between surface water and ground water, as well as dynamic distributed infiltration through the unsaturated zone and vegetation-based soil-water deficits. In this context, integrated catchment models are widely recognized as more reliable and defensible for decision-making. In this intensive hands-on workshop, you will learn about the processes and linkages in integrated catchment modeling.
