With recent increases in uranium mining throughout the world, contamination of groundwater with uranium has become an increasingly public issue. This is especially true in areas with competing demands on groundwater resources. This session brings together scientists working on uranium in groundwater from many aspects to address protection of the world’s groundwater resources and bring science into practice. This session includes abstracts on: • Uranium in groundwater from a broad perspective (i.e., mining and milling legacy issues, current or legacy conventional and/or in-situ leach mining issues, other site studies, natural background, geochemistry, reactive transport modeling, remediation technologies, etc.).
