Constellation C (Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor)
The utilization of ground water for transferring heat efficiently from a building and storing it in bore-hole rock is embodied in the standing column well geothermal configuration. This design has been recognized as a more compact, efficient and lower capital cost design than the standard closed loop configuration, yet, for a number of reasons, it has not caught-on as effectively as in the NE. ARB/Geowell has attempted to demystify the technology and educate the A&E community through its HeatSpring Institute AIA certificated course and numerous design examples. The process of thermal measurement, geothermal system modeling & simulation, turn-key design & specification, installation oversight, commissioning and follow-up contract services are mandated to insure a satisfactory result.
