Julia McCarthy is an aquatic biologist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 8 based in Denver. Her primary responsibilities lie within the Clean Water Act Section 404 regulatory program. She has a strong background in freshwater science, and has studied in various aquatic ecosystems, from midwestern lakes to montane headwater streams. Julia has a M.S. in Ecology from Colorado State University, and a B.S. in Biology and a Certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. On her days off, you can find Julia hiking, tending her garden, collecting bugs and rock climbing.
