Mr. Hallum works for the Nebraska State Geologist as a Survey Hydrogeologist serving West Central Nebraska; within the School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He conducts research and provides education relating to geology and water resources management. His programs focus on the observation and simulation of groundwater - surface water interaction and on development of integrated water management tools for use by farmers, ranchers, irrigation districts, and regional and state water regulators.
