Progress Toward a Nationwide Ground Water Monitoring Network - Panel, 1 CEP
NGWA is at the forefront of efforts toward creation of a nationwide ground water monitoring network. One important step was the formation of the ACWI Subcommittee on Ground Water (SOGW) in 2007, with NGWA taking a leading role. SOGW members will conduct a panel discussion and participatory session, focusing on progress in formulating a framework for a nationwide ground water monitoring network. Panelists will describe accomplishments in 2007 and plans for 2008—in areas including inventory of existing networks, data management, field methods, and network design. Attendees will participate through question-and-answer facilitated interactions, helping focus SOGW efforts and identifying opportunities for outreach, collaboration, and improvement of the subcommittee's products. Given the far reaching and nationally-significant aspects of the SOGW's efforts, every NGWA member is encouraged to attend and participate.
