Soil Vapor Extraction: Understanding Physical, Chemical, Design, and Technology Limitations - Workshop, 1 CEP
This focused discussion will examine the application of soil vapor extraction (SVE), and dual-phase (or multiphase) extraction (DPE or MPE) as a method used for both soil and ground water remediation. The discussion includes geology/lithology limitations, contaminant mass calculations, extraction well design and placement, and treatment technology selection criteria. Each topic evaluates common SVE and/or DPE implementation mistakes and makes recommendations for effective remedial system design. SVE case study and full-scale design results are presented. Criteria evaluation for selecting appropriate off-gas treatment technology for various sites is discussed. Attendees will be exposed to soil vapor extraction equipment and design.
