Discover the secret of good technical writing—know where you are going before you start writing. This workshop demonstrates the importance of understanding the purpose and intended audience for your writing before you set pen to paper. You will learn how to present data that support your premise as well as data that do not. The workshop covers how to present complex ideas clearly as well as how to incorporate graphs, tables, and figures effectively. You will be shown the most common technical writing errors and how to avoid them. Writing examples, both good and bad, will be drawn from actual technical letters, work plans, and reports. Upon completion of this workshop, you will have a toolbox of technical writing approaches and techniques to improve the clarity of your writing and make the writing process less daunting.
