Keeping Up with Technology

Friday, December 5, 2008: 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
N240 (Las Vegas Convention Center)
Find out what questions you should be asking before investing in new technology. Taking advantage of electronic technology makes sense when it offers improvements, but that does not necessarily mean you need to completely abandon all of the tried and true methods that served you well in the past. After all, there is a delicate balance between what Moore's law has come to imply, which is that basically computing power is doubling at an ever-quickening pace, and the principal of Occam's razor, which is often paraphrased as the simplest solution is the best. In this workshop, you will learn about the rapid advances being made in electronic pump technology and mechanical pump controls, as well as how to analyze which systems best meet your needs.
