Best Suggested Practices for the Safe Handling of Radioactive Wastes from Water Treatment Devices—Work Session

Thursday, December 4, 2008: 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
N101 (Las Vegas Convention Center)
Contribute to our industry by sharing your insight, experience, and expertise in the creation of a new NGWA "best practice" dealing with the safe handling of radioactive wastes from water treatment devices. Why the need? There is a seeming lack of available safe practices knowledge in our industry when it comes to dealing with dangerous materials. Facilitated by a neutral third party, you and your colleagues will discuss, dissect, and analyze a "straw man" outline with the goal being to restructure it and ultimately turn it into a consensus best practice draft to submit to the NGWA Board of Directors for consideration. (You should expect continuing involvement beyond this session at the Expo with subsequent work conducted via e-mail, conference call, and online collaboration software.) Space is limited in this work session to the first 25 participants
