Lorrie is a geologist and is the manager of the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Permits Section for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). She has a B.S. in Geology from the University of Oklahoma and is a licensed professional geoscientist in the states of Texas and Arizona. Lorrie has 34 years of professional work experience covering injection well regulation, environmental investigation and remediation, waste disposal and other environmental regulatory programs. Lorrieā€™s work since 2012 has included evaluating requests for aquifer exemptions associated with injection well operations in Texas and the state and federal regulatory processes for program revisions associated with EPA approval of aquifer exemptions under the UIC Program and the Safe Drinking Water Act. She actively participated through the Ground Water Protection Council Aquifer Exemption Workgroup with state UIC program directors and EPA representatives during the time EPA was changing its methodology for approving aquifer exemptions and associated revisions to federally-delegated state UIC Programs.
