Groundwater from the Mountains to the Sea in the Central Atlantic Region

June 6- 7, 2016

This National Ground Water Association (NGWA) regional conference on groundwater in inland and coastal areas along the Central Atlantic Region focuses on issues in the Carolinas, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Population pressures, agriculture, mining, and energy development are intensifying interest in groundwater availability and quality in this diverse and economically-important region. This NGWA conference provides an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned among individuals involved in a variety of groundwater issues in this unique region. Abstracts are solicited on all aspects related to groundwater in these states, including those addressing:

  • Agriculture and urban impacts
  • Coastal land subsidence
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Features and benefits of emerging technologies
  • Frameworks and water balances
  • Groundwater discharge into surface water
  • Groundwater management, policy, and regulation
  • Long-term groundwater supply and availability in the coastal plain
  • Managed aquifer recharge
  • Nutrient focused, estuarial discharge
  • On-line platforms for groundwater data display
  • Saltwater intrusion
  • Translating groundwater quality to surface water quality
  • Valley and Ridge sandstone and carbonate rock aquifers

Abstracts must be submitted in sentence form and without bullet points by Sunday, January 17, 2016

Titles should be limited to 100 characters or less and abstracts should be limited to 300 words or less.

    No names or titles should be included in the abstract text. Names will be automatically hidden during the abstract review process and will be automatically inserted and properly formatted upon publication.

    Presenting authors will be automatically informed of the unique ID numbers and passwords assigned to their abstracts. Abstracts may be viewed and modified at any time between submission and the deadline, using the assigned ID# and password.
