NGWA Workshop on Groundwater in the Northwest (#5043)

The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) holds regional events that provide an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned among a wide range of individuals involved in the groundwater issues of that region. This workshop focuses on the Northwest US, including Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington, northern Nevada, and western Montana. Population pressures, agriculture, mining, and energy development are intensifying interest in groundwater availability and quality in this diverse and economically important region. Abstracts are solicited on all aspects related to groundwater in these states, including those addressing:

  • Drought resilience/water availability/scarcity
  • Effects of energy development
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Groundwater and agricultural use
  • Groundwater and livestock
  • Groundwater and mining
  • Groundwater management, policy, and regulations
  • Groundwater sustainability
  • Groundwater-dependent ecosystems
  • Managed aquifer recharge and water reuse
  • Nitrate and pesticides
  • Surface water/groundwater interaction
  • Urban impacts

Abstracts are due through NGWA's electronic systems by 11:59 p.m. PT on Saturday, January 18, 2020 and must be submitted in sentence form and without bullet points on our website.

Titles should be limited to 100 characters or less and abstracts should be limited to 300 words or less.

Steps and Instructions:

    Enter author name, affiliation, and contact information.
  3. Enter Abstract Text

    You will be able to copy/paste your abstract into a text box.
  4. Confirmation

    You will have a chance to look over the submission to make sure all is complete.
  5. General Instructions

    No names or titles should be included in the abstract text. Names will be automatically hidden during the abstract review process and will be automatically inserted and properly formatted upon publication.

    Presenting authors will be automatically informed of the unique ID numbers and passwords assigned to their abstracts. Abstracts may be viewed and modified at any time between submission and the deadline, using the assigned ID# and password.
