The use of spreadsheets in personal computers can provide a cost-effective means for solving wide range of simple and complex groundwater flow and polution problems in a very efficient way using dynamic interactive graphics output, without complex programing. This feature is an extremely usefull in hydrogeology practice, but also in the groundwater teaching and learning proccess, where the student, or scientist or engineer can efficiently develop his own models for a wide range of scenarios. There are presented spreadsheet programs for 1-D, 2-D and 3-D analytical and numerical solutions for groundwater flow and pollution, including well field analysis, capture zone, particle tracking and natural atenuation, where groundwater plume migration can be predicted, and risk corrective actions can also be simulated, developing site-specific remediation standards. There are also presented spreadsheets for analysis of pumping and slug tests, step drawdown tests, hydrogeochemical analysis, base flow generation, earth resistivity soundings interpretation and land subsidence.
