This four-hour workshop is designed to address the most common issues one encounters when constructing water supply wells. The workshop will walk through the processes from the initial design of the well through its construction, development, operation, and ongoing maintenance. Topics presented will include:
•The importance of specifications, construction management, and inspection
•Well design
•Drilling fluids control during construction
•Formation sampling and analysis
•Proper gravel pack selection (including hands-on exercise)
•Proper selection of water well casing and screen
•Well development
•Test pumping and data interpretation
•Well operation
•Well maintenance
•Well economics (includes hands-on exercises)
The workshop will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and will include a lunch break for all conference attendees. This workshop session will be presented in Spanish, and is open to all registered conference attendees.
