Dennis Lettenmaier is currently a professor of environmental engineering and science in the University of Washington Department of Civil Engineering. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington; an M.S. in civil, mechanical, and environmental engineering from the George Washington University; and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union, the American Water Resources Association, the American Meteorological Society, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was a recipient of ASCE's Huber Research Prize in 1990, and is the author of more than 70 journal articles.
