Alan Matheson is the Executive Director of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality and the Senior Environmental Policy Advisor to Governor Gary R. Herbert. He previously served as Utah's State Planning Coordinator, Executive Director of Envision Utah, Director of the Utah Water Project, and was a partner in a Phoenix law firm, where he practiced water law. Alan oversaw the stakeholder process to develop recommendations for Utah's state water strategy and is a member of the Western States Water Council.
