Mr. Schmid has over 16 years of experience as a quantitative agronomist (plant scientist) and soil scientist, specializing in the application of remotely sensed data and techniques to quantify land surface conditions pertaining to wetland vegetation, soil science, and other environmental objectives. This includes program management for the Salton Sea Air Quality Mitigation Program; the Owens Lake Dust Mitigation Program and Owens Lake Groundwater Program; the Department of Water Resources’ Statewide Evapotranspiration Mapping efforts; and technical / testifying expert actions on impacts of drought and groundwater pumping on wetland vegetation in the Atacama Desert of Chile.
