Borehole Geophysical Logging for Water Resources/Water Supply Applications

Sunday, December 13, 2009: 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
215/216 (Morial Convention Center)
Receive an overview of the basic applications of borehole geophysics for designing and completing water production wells, accessing environmental concerns, and rehabilitating or abandoning water production wells during this workshop. In addition, you will also learn about various types of borehole geophysical logs—including new developments—and their uses, log quality/validation issues, and what sort of work products to expect from a logging program and contractor/logging company. You are encouraged to bring your own logs on which you have questions to discuss them with the instructors and other workshop attendees. This is an introductory workshop and while a background in drilling and logging operations is not necessary, having a general understanding of geology, hydrogeology, and drilling operations may be helpful.
