Vapor Intrusion

Sunday, December 13, 2009: 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
207 (Morial Convention Center)
Find out about the latest strategies to conduct site screening and investigations to determine the appropriate tools to collect quality data and evaluate the results, and build solutions for vapor intrusion (VI) issues, by learning about mitigation options in this workshop based on the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council’s national VI pathway guidance documents. Characterized as the migration of volatile chemicals from the subsurface into overlying structures, this simple definition of VI belies the magnitude of this complex exposure pathway, and during the past decade, VI has become a significant environmental issue for regulators, the environmental consulting community, and concerned residents.
