Affordable, domestically produced energy is critical to sustain and nurture economic and technological growth in the United States, in addition to making us energy-independent. Affordable energy resources help drive local, national, and international economies. As with the production of any natural resource, potential environmental and personal property impacts are issues reckoned with by producers, regulators, customers, and citizens. The relationship between local groundwater quantity and quality in natural gas and oil production regions is one such issue.
