Communicating Groundwater Science

Tuesday, December 5, 2017: 3:45 p.m.-5:15 p.m.
101 C (Music City Center)
Out of sight and out of mind, it is always a challenge to communicate about groundwater to the public at large. As a scientist/nonscientist writing team, Bill and Rosemarie communicate complex environmental science issues to a broad public. Bill provides the scientific expertise and Rosemarie’s job is to turn it into an engaging narrative. They have written two books together, as well as articles and Op/Ed pieces, and have given talks to a wide range of audiences. This session is intended to share their experiences as well as those in the audience on how to successfully hook the public’s interest with environmental science issues.
Presenters:
William Alley, Ph.D. and Rosemarie Alley
