Cynthia Fischer, water system supervisor/production, City of Fresno (California) DPU Water Division, has more than 32 years of experience in the water production and operations field with Distribution 4 and Treatment 4 certifications issued by CDPH. Her background includes working with the State Water Project, California Aqueduct in Kern County, California Water Service Co., and California American Water Co. in Sacramento. Fischer has served Fresno for the last 10 years including four years as a surface water treatment plant operator. She currently manages a crew of nine production operators who maintain the city’s 260 production wells. Fischer consults with engineers and contractors for best practices and results for new well drilling, development, and pump and well rehabilitations. Well development and redevelopment are her passion, and she looks for opportunities to network, speak, and listen to new technologies, techniques, and practices.
