Doug is a senior hydrogeologist with 28 years of wide-ranging experience in water resources management including hydrogeology and management of water supply systems. Doug is the President of Western Water Associates Ltd. with offices in Vernon, Victoria and Prince George B.C. and is a Professional Geoscientist in B.C., Professional Geologist in Alberta, Licenced Hydrogeologist in Washington State, and a Registered Geologist in Oregon. He worked as a consulting hydrogeologist in Washington State for five years in the early 1990s and spent a decade in Oregon (1995-2005), most notably as the Groundwater Program Manager with the City of Portland Bureau of Water Works for 7 years where he managed numerous large projects in the City’s Columbia South Shore Well Field and the Bull Run Watershed. Doug has been highly involved in groundwater resource management, and development of new groundwater regulations and guidance documents in the Province of B.C. where he has lived and worked since 2005. He currently is Chair of the B.C. Water and Waste Association Water Sustainability Committee, who are charged with coordinating input, response and support for water utilities in complying with B.C.’s new (2016) Water Sustainability Act.
