NGWA Geothermal Drilling Mud and Grouting School While the focus of this hands-on event—being offered in conjunction with cooperating industry firms Baroid Industrial Drilling Products, Laibe Corp./VersaDrill, and Preferred Pump & Equipment LP—will be on proper operations to protect groundwater during geothermal loop installations, the presentations and exercises are applicable to conventional drilling as well. Participants should plan to wear work attire and bring safety glasses, gloves, and a hardhat. The full curriculum for the training program will consist of a classroom session on Thursday, December 9, followed by this hands-on event Friday, December 10 8:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m.. Those completing both sessions will receive a certificate of attendance. Individuals may also earn a Geothermal Drilling Mud and Grouting Certificate by attending both sessions and then taking an exam and earning an 80 percent or better score. (The exam will be administered following the outdoor session on Friday.) Preregistration on or before November 19 is required. The cost on or before November 5 is $95 for NGWA members and $145 for nonmembers; the cost beginning on November 6 is $145 for NGWA members and $195 for nonmembers.
