Properly Conducting a Pump Test

Presented on Wednesday, December 4, 2013

Water well contractors are asked to do three types of pump test: pump capacity, well capacity, and aquifer characteristics. Each test requires an understanding of what different data is gathered and how the data is used to determine the answer of pump or well capacity or aquifer characteristics. Different equipment required will be described and proper use of that equipment will be covered. Lastly, data will be used to determine aquifer characteristics and calculate well efficiency.
