Water Quality Issues in Stressed Aquifers

Presented on Thursday, December 17, 2015

Water availability is a high priority across the country as competition for water becomes more intense with aquifers stressed by human and climatic factors. Water quality is often an important consideration in addressing water availability in stressed aquifers. This technical session solicits abstracts on any aspect related to water quality in stressed aquifers, including saltwater intrusion, agricultural chemicals, mobilization of trace elements and other naturally-occurring substances, contamination from land-surface activities, effects of interactions with surface water, effects of energy development, and water-quality issues associated with managed aquifer recharge.
