Operational Stages of the Well: Evaluating the Forms of Water Well Deterioration

The workshop will look (briefly) at the root causes of fouling which impact the efficiency, water quality, and usefulness of potable well systems. Tying together a number of parameters and observations, the course will focus on using this information to assign a value to the well with regards to maintenance needs. Once an understanding is established, corrective maintenance or replacement can be scheduled. The goal of the information presented is to extend the operational lifespan of existing wells while incorporating valuable information into the design and operation of new well systems. The course will also look at applying this information into economic analysis, aiding in the understanding of the financial benefits to proactive well maintenance efforts.

 

The workshop compliments the book entitled “Operational Stages of the Well: Evaluating the Forms of Water Well Deterioration and Developing Corrective Actions” which is set to be released at the 2016 NGWA Expo.
