Authors Bio Thom M. Hanna, RPG, is employed as a hydrogeologist for Johnson Screens where he works in areas of well design, construction, rehabilitation and development. Before working for Johnson Screens he worked over 15 years as a hydrogeologist for several ground-water consulting firms including Hydrologic Consultants, Inc., Papadopulos Associates, and Golder Associates. His experiences include hydrogeologic investigations, design and optimization of well efficiencies for mine dewatering and water supply investigations. Michael J. Schnieders, PG, PH-GW, is a hydrogeologist and president of Water Systems Engineering of Ottawa, Kansas. Michael has an extensive, applied background in groundwater geochemistry, geomicrobiology, and water resource investigation and management, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of fouled well systems. Mike served as the 2017 NGWA McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturer. John H. Schnieders, Ph.D., is a Certified Professional Chemist, and author of the 2003 book “Chemical Cleaning, Disinfection, and Decontamination of Water Wells.” John’s multi-disciplined background includes microbiology, water chemistry, corrosion and environmental engineering. John served as the 2002 NGWA McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturer focusing on chemical and microbiological fouling of water well systems.
