Borehole Geophysical Logging

Tuesday, December 5, 2017: 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
207 AB (Music City Center)
Can you identify water producing zones in well boreholes or identify fractures? Can you evaluate relative water yield and water quality? Do you have the knowledge and tools to plan the construction of well systems—and their rehabilitation and possible decommissioning?

Borehole geophysics is a highly effective tool for water resource and water supply applications and one that is often applied in environmental investigations. This workshop will address the fundamentals of borehole geophysics with respect to the design and construction of water supply wells in addition to evaluating environmental concerns with respect to contaminant flow. You will also learn about the different types of borehole geophysical logs and most appropriate applications.
