Building Cross-Sections from Borehole Geophysical Logs

Wednesday, December 6, 2017: 4:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Activity Area B- Exhibit Hall (Music City Center)
Generation of technically sound cross-sections is critical in developing a hydrogeologic conceptual site model for environmental and water resources applications. The objective of this Activity is to provide a basic framework and criteria for building cross-sections from borehole geophysical logs. With the use of an aquifer and stratigraphic correlation exercise, the presenters will demonstrate how to build a cross-section.  Additional examples of cross-sections using combinations of logs will be provided; and, specific logs used for correlation will aslo be shown and discussed.
