Protecting Today’s More Efficient Pump Motors from PWM Damage

Presented on Tuesday, December 4, 2018

The push for more efficient pumping solutions is accelerating, and it’s coming from all directions. On one side, the U.S. Department of energy is implementing new minimum efficiency standards on pumping systems and their components. On the other, end-users are demanding pumping systems with ever higher efficiencies. This session presents practical guidelines for pump motor protection from PWM waveforms inherent in energy efficient, VFD controlled pumping systems.
