Preparing for an Uncertain Future: Developing a 50-Year Utah Water Strategy
During his presentation, Alan will talk about the four-year process he had led at the direction of Governor Herbert to outline recommended strategies for addressing Utah's water future. The stakeholder process was challenging, but listening to a diverse set of viewpoints and hashing out differences yielded a better, more enduring product. The recommendations address issues such as conservation, efficient water development, sustainable agriculture, preserving natural systems, water quality, funding infrastructure, climate change, water law and technology. Many of the high-priority recommendations are being implemented through legislation and administrative policy.
