Smart Pumping: Future Trends in Pumping Control

Thursday, December 10, 2009: 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
220 (Morial Convention Center)
Learn how the latest trends in pumping control can impact your business. No matter who you are or what you do, technology affects your business—and the pumping sector is no exception. Did you know that with the proper equipment, you are able to connect to your home’s water well via the Internet or phone? An increasing number of pumping systems are migrating from traditional electromechanical solutions based on relays and contacts to variable frequency drives (VFDs) and smart relays or programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Primary market drivers, including energy management and efficiency, mean the need for more-efficient systems combined with ongoing simplification and lower cost of components. Remote terminal units (RTUs) used to remotely monitor and control pumping systems save time and money, and make troubleshooting and service more efficient.
