How State Associations Can Hold Outdoor Field Conferences and Public Outreach Events

Friday, December 11, 2009: 8:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
220 (Morial Convention Center)
Discover during this workshop how your state association can plan, promote, and hold an outdoor field conference, providing an opportunity for learning that goes beyond reading a how-to manual or viewing a PowerPoint presentation. For example, an outdoor field conference can demonstrate a geothermal borehole being drilled, looped, grouted, flushed, purged, and connected to an operating geothermal heat pump. Drill rigs, grouters, and other equipment are operated with each step of the process explained via a loudspeaker that can be heard over the engine noise. Examples from the Pennsylvania Ground Water Association’s summer field conferences will be used to guide you how to plan, promote, and execute a one-day field conference with concurrent events.
