Drilling Fluids and Foams for Geothermal Applications

Find out how a good drilling fluid or drilling foam program can be to predictable production while providing a clean in gauge borehole for loop grouting. While air drilling may be the preferred method, it may not be desirable in all applications due to sensitive formations or large volumes of produced water. Using foams, stiff foams, or mud mists may be the answer—or converting an air drilling contractor to the use of drilling mud may be the solution. In this workshop, you will learn how to devise the appropriate mud program for the circumstances, and recognize and control annular velocities.
