Regency East 2/3 (Hyatt Regency San Antonio)
Drought, a reduction in imported water, environmental protections, water laws, and rising imported water costs are difficult issues facing water agencies today and in the future. These impacts have resulted in some cases of increased costs and reduced supply but also of new ideas on how to increase the amount of groundwater used and stored. This session examines how different water agencies have implemented or proposed innovative and sustainable solutions to increase the amount of groundwater utilized. Different programs and projects where local resources are developed for a local sustainable groundwater supply will also be highlighted.
