U.S. COE Session

Presented on Thursday, December 1, 2011

Representative from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will discuss drilling operations and testing for assessing dam and levee safety. Dams and levees are one of the sectors of critical infrastructure identified by Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7 (HSPD-7) since potential failure of a dam or levee has numerous and potentially catastrophic consequences. Several case studies will be presented, and may include sites from the Nashville, Jacksonville, and New England Districts such as the Herbert Hoover Dike, Wolf Creek Dam, and Center Hill Dam. You will learn dam and levee safety assessment techniques.
