A Comparative Analysis of Mud Cleaning Systems Side by Side on the Same Site

Presented on Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Solids separation machines are growing in popularity and use in the water well and ground source geothermal drilling industries. Several models are available on the market from a variety of manufacturers in many different sizes and capacities. Their proper use makes work sites safer and cleaner. Improper use can compound drilling problems and ultimately cause sites to become muddy and potentially unsafe. This presentation will be a side by side comparison of the different machines and methods used at Ball State University's Muncie Indiana campus during phase 2 of their ground source geothermal loop installation. This is of special interest to the Geothermal Energy Interest Group.
